Secondary 1 Orientation

On week 2 of 2014, there were two events that occurred during CCA time. The first was CCA Sec 1 Orientation. Some of us were involved in promoting to the Sec 1s what our CCA was all about.

The second event was our first Info.Media Awards where the seniors (Afroze, Darryl, Thiru and Klemen) took the other members through the viewing of the 3 SDMA 2013 submissions and voting of the best submission.

Through the activity, the groups learnt that a good video submission requires a storyboard that is logical, has good editing skills and clear narration.

Henderson Waves Photography Challenge

The CCA members were given a task on the first Friday for CCA to work in groups to capture patterns and designs at Henderson Waves.

Though the walk was tiring up the slope to Henderson Waves, the members had a good time spending discovering the various patterns and shapes that the bridge could offer.

Where We Are Right Now?

The Info.Media Club members are currently working on their 2014 SDMA projects.
There are a total of 4 different themes but the group will likely be working on three of the themes.
Theme 1 : My Nation, My Community and I
Theme 2 : Special Days
Theme 3 : Old is Gold

There are a total of 5 groups working on the 3 themes.
However, before the groups can work on the themes, genre, etc, they need to take note of what to consider when they want to produce a video. The members are lucky to have Ms Oh Ji Ji (newest teacher to join Info.Media Club) whose speciality is filmming. So currently, Ms Oh has been giving lessons on tips to consider when producing a film (eg. criteria of a good story, technical know). Though it may be a repetition of knowledge that the upper secondary has already learnt, the sessions serve as a good reminder to the seniors on what to consider when producing a video.

HIP HIP HOORAY! Platinum Award for SDMA 2013 Competition

       Info,Media Club did it again for the

                            2013 School's Digital Media Award (SDMA) Competition

One of our submission on "Social Responsibility of 'Forgotten Places'" obtained the Platinum award,the highest award for the competition. Another reason for why we are very proud of the team is because it was one of the 3 schools out of the 500 over submissions who obtained the Platinum Award.
