The second night was spent at Esplanade where the members practiced the skills they have learnt in the photography lessons to capture the sights of the area after dawn.

The club functions as per normal this week, 26th of August 2011, where the members were busy preparing for the SDMA competition.

While most groups were in school doing their editing, four of the Green Corridor Video Group went to Dairy Farm Adventure Centre to interview Mr Leong Kwok Peng, Vice President of Nature Society Singapore on his thoughts about the conservation of the Green Corridor.

It was a great experience for the group in doing outdoor video recording and interview important figures from non profit organisations like Nature Society Singapore. This is something that is new for the club members but will be something that will be a common thing for most of the members to venture into in the future. The details of the interview will be released once the video has been finalised for submission. Watch out for it !

It was a hot day but a lot was done within the two hours there. The group managed to do obtain materials for their stock animation as well as film some parts of the station and railway line that is defunt and in the process of being removed.

It is sad to see some parts of our heritage being removed, all for the sake of development.

Singapore Spirit Alive in Henderson

This video was produced by Jazeerah (3E2) and Naung Oo (3E1) for the school's National Day Celebration to showcase the Singapore Spirit in Henderson. It took them almost two months to develop the script, record and gather necessary footages as well as editing the whole production. Their creativity has been praised by many teachers. Photography Workshop for IMC members

The club members are lucky to be able to go through 4 sessions of the Photography workshop during the first semestral break. The final one is due in Term 3.

DV Campus 2011

A group of IMC members participated in the DV Campus Competition this year. The topic was on learning journey trips or basically on our own school's Glocalisation programme. Research work was done by our former club Chairperson, Rahul (4E1) and the changes made by Nur Jazeerah (3E2), our current Chairperson. After the script was prepared, translation to Mandarin had to be made as the competition is in Chinese. The focus of the script is on the Gift of Sight Programme that the school has participated for a few years.

After scripting was done, we had to source out for video clips that the school has on any glocalisation trips that the school had conducted in the past. Apart from scripting, this was the next challenge as we realised that the videos were in the hands of different people.

The club is fortunate to have two China National pupils, Siwei (2E3) and Jiarui (3E1) who helped in the video recording as well as video editing. The members took almost three months (April to June) to complete the video for the competition. We hope to see our production screened on channel 8 very soon and hopefully be good enough to be in the top 3 placing.

The club would like to thank Mr Vincent Lim for allowing the club members to video record and interview the Thai visitors in April, Ms Violet Chew for helping out in the first translation process, Ms Ng NY and Ms Evelyn Wu for the Gift of Sight video clips, Mr Peh for his help in gathering videos on previous glocalisation trips, Mr Zahid and Mr Karthik for helping out in technical challenges and lastly to our presenter, Lihan, 3E4, who was sporting and took up the challenge to present the video.

Horseshoe Crab Research and Rescue Mission CIP on 16th April 2011

A group from the club volunteered to rescue and assist in the research work of the Nature Society Singapore in conserving the Horseshoe Crab. It was a very muddy experience for all but at the end of the day, everyone agreed that there was a lot of fun and learning gained from the volunteer work. Another session of the volunteer work will be done in Semester 2.

Green Carpet Award, Jan 2011

On Jan 2011, we were invited to participate in a photography competition. We went to Sungei Buloh Nature Reserve. Each of us was equipped with a camera provided by the organizer. Throughout the day, we firstly took a course on the basic methods of using the camera. Then we walked around the nature reserve and took some pictures of the wild animals, as well as the various vegetation there.
